Venture capital is a pretty simple business. Invest in great founders, then do anything you can to help them succeed. Our goal at Fuel is to do these two things insanely well.
Fuel was launched to build a fund that founders truly value and want to work with. We have a maniacal focus on being helpful. Do this well over time and our reputation grows. With that growth, comes opportunities to invest with more great founders.
It starts with investing in founders who have the guts, smarts and determination to upend conventional wisdom and build new things that people can’t live without. We often take a risk on an underdog who has a fire in their eye and an early prototype with a glimmer of customer enthusiasm. We look for people who want to build products, and services, that change the rules of the game and that can become iconic.
Once we invest, we’re in your corner, not in your kitchen. We roll up our sleeves and go to work by bringing every available resource we have. And if we don’t have it, we find it. We coach and mentor. Help recruit or raise money. Find customers, partners or advisors. And we connect you to each other - there’s power in sharing your collective wisdom.
Fuel is about you, not us. We didn’t put our name on the door and you won’t see us on panels or in the press. We eschew fame and bluster in favor of genuine relationships, trust and being a valued member of your team.
If this sounds like what you're looking for in a partner, the best way to get in touch is thru a founder we've worked with and have them introduce us.
Our new office was the test kitchen for Saison and we kept this concept alive by outfitting the garage in our live/work loft with a 10-person dining table. We regularly host collaborative events for our founders. It's called The Garage - because great startups (and your occasional rock band) often start in a garage.
